Certification Letters
Certification letters provide written verification of licensure and are used to provide documentation to any requesting party with the exception of other state licensing agencies. If a letter is being requested for the purpose of licensure in another state please see the following:
- License Verification (formerly known as Letters of Good Standing)
- Each certification letter includes the physician's license number, license issue and expiration date, and current license status.
- When the license record reveals that there has been disciplinary action, the request is processed in the Enforcement Program.
- There is a $10 fee for each certification letter requested. The fee must be in the form of a check made payable to the Medical Board of California.
